Wild garlic is a small plant that occurs in Europe and Asia. In Poland it grows wild in the mountains, foothills and highlands, grows in shady and moist deciduous forests, is covered by partial protection. In places where there is often creates large communities – feuds. It blooms in April and May.
Name of the plant derives from the legend according to which wild garlic is the first meal of bears after waking from hibernation, formerly believed that the bears eat the herb garlic because it strengthens the body after winter.
Herbal raw material is the same herb or leaf collected during flowering. Most of dried herb used in the form of infusion or tincture. You can also use the herb or leaf as an addition to dishes (salads, sandwiches, pastes) or as intraktu (tincture of the fresh herb). Garlic lowers blood pressure and has anticoagulation, prevents atherosclerosis and has a beneficial effect on the heart. Regular use of wild garlic reduces the risk of atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, myocardial or stroke. Garlic contains a lot of iron, so a positive effect on the condition of the blood, increases the amount of hemoglobin and oxygenation of tissues.
Antibacterial and antifungal is therefore recommended for various infections, particularly infections of the upper respiratory tract because the compounds present in wild garlic (phenolic acids) to thin bronchial secretions surging and thus facilitate the coughing. Taken on an empty stomach also it works against parasitic. It also has a detoxifying and cleansing and anti-oxidizing can therefore be used during cleansing treatment and during weight loss , the active compounds present in garlic, also support the immune system, so it is often used in addition to the anti-cancer therapy.
